Hey! I'm a little baby sophomore in college looking to pursue a career in animation/storyboarding and I saw your storyboard for Adventure Time. First of all, I'm sorry you didn't land the gig because your art is fantastic. Second, I was wondering if they told you certain things to "improve" on or just general advice to help a wannabe storyboard artist in need! Thanks so much and keep up the good work!

Hey there! Thanks for the compliment. When you take tests they usually don’t come back with notes from my experience. You can certainly ask for some which I did for my adventure time test and was given really positive feedback. Sometimes rejection is due to great competition rather than lack of skill.

as for advice, build a story portfolio, keep a sketchbook, draw everyday, make your own storyboards, post your work online frequently, apply for positions online, do at least one thing everyday that helps you inch towards your goal and allow rejection to motivate you not deter you. You can follow the animation guild on fb for job postings. And an internship experience at a studio is greatly beneficial.

good luck to ya!
